It has been a long time since I've had the chance to go deep sea fishing. My wife Amie and I booked a four hour charter during our stay in the Riviera Maya Mexico. It was Amies first time ever going deep sea fishing, she was both excited and nervous. The fishing unfortunately was slow. Even on the Gulf of Mexico, fishing is still fishing. Some days are good, some, not so good. But we still had a great time. I was able to pull in an average size Barracuda and Amie caught a rare Green Marlin, which contrary to what the name implies, is a fish that looks like a saltwater version of a Longnose Gar. After a couple hours of trolling and no more hook-ups, our Cap'n asked if we were interested in fishing for some smaller fish to catch for a shore-side lunch. So we ended up catching over a dozen Yellow-Tail Tuna, as well as a small Grouper. When we returned back to the beach, the cook fried up the Yellow-Tails and we had some of the best fish tacos I may have ever had. This made the whole trip worth it. I look forward to another chance of deep sea fishing in the near future as well as another shore side lunch with our catch of the day. Steve, Heartland Hunter Pro Staff
